It enable
transmission of voice, data, text, pictures and video in larger
quantities and quicker than the original network. Besides, the
ISDN transmission is reliability, ISDN is a digital network and
information is sent by digital signal in the whole system, so that
there is no transforming from digital signal to analog signal and
vice versa.
Then there is so
little noise and communication signal will have no distortion.
Data will have more accuracy than transmitting in analog signal
like present network.
The advantage of using Internet with ISDN is higher speed of
transmitting since ISDN network can transmit communication signal
in the speed at 64Kbps per channel.
1. Basic
Access Interface (BAI)
Using only one wire pair, subscribers can choose to install 8
terminal equipment in an ISDN wire pair that has 3 channels. They
compose of 2 channels B for voice, data picture and video
(digital) signal transmission so subscribers can use
simultaneously 2 communication equipment without interference to
each other, for example subscribers can use telephone and
facsimile at the same time. Each of the 2 channels B have a speed
at 64Kbps, and 1 channel D has speed at 16Kbps for transmitting
signal to request services and call control channels B.
2.
Primary Rate Interface (PRI)
This type of linkage connects the user's ISDN PABX by using
optical fiber cable. The channel structure contains 30 channels B
speed at 64Kbps each without interference to each other, being
able to use simultaneously installed behind ISDN PABX 30
communication equipment and 1 channel D speed at 64Kbps.
Therefore, it's still provides other support services such as
presentation, providing more than 1 number for each telephone,
expanding telephone numbers services, moving equipment during
communication without releasing the signal (Terminal Portability)
and so on etc.
There are many
"other services" available. Some important things to bear in mind
are:
1. Are you paying
for more than you need?
If, for example, you use "broadband" unlimited connections say at
Bt3,500 a month for "all ways on" do you really need this?
2. Is your line only
for your exclusive use, as in ISDN and ADSL or will your broadband
provider keep adding more people to their line to cover their very
high line costs? The more that are added, the slower your
connection becomes.
3. If you use 100
hours a month, then why not pay for 100 hours a month? It is
cheaper in the long run.
4. Always connected
with broadband means exactly that. So if you do not understand
firewalls and PC protection and you leave your pc on all the time
then a "hacker" could attempt and maybe succeed in gaining access to
your private information. With ADSL and ISDN this cannot happen as
you have to physically turn on your modem (ADSL) or dial up to
your leased line (ISDN)
